Education & Other Highlights

Mike joined GTCR, a leading Chicago-based private equity firm, in 2008 and became a principal in 2014. He currently serves as a managing director for GTCR and director of CAPTRUST and Ultimus Fund Solutions.

In his time with the firm, he has played an instrumental role in facilitating GTCR’s investments in Ironshore and PrivateBancorp. In addition, he was previously a director of the past successful investments in Callcredit Information Group, Aligned Asset Managers/The Townsend Group, and Premium Credit Limited.

Prior to taking on his role as managing director at GTCR Golder Rauner, Mike was a senior associate at Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe, a New York–based private equity firm, and Fremont Partners, a private equity group located in San Francisco, California. He started his career in the mergers and acquisitions group at Salomon Smith Barney.

Mike brings to the CAPTRUST Board of Directors two decades of industry experience and a deep understanding of transformational acquisitions and organic growth. He has served on several boards, including the Advisory Board at Empirical Finance LLC and as board director for Premium Credit Limited. Mike has also served as a board member for The Townsend Group, TransUnion UK, Optimal Blue, Ultimus Fund Solutions, and the Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in economics with concentrations in accounting and finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated with honors and was a recipient of the Sol Feinstone Award.
