Heather Shanahan is the senior director of endowments and foundations based in Raleigh, NC.
Heather joined the CAPTRUST team in 2022. She partners closely with Eric Bailey, CAPTRUST’s head of endowments and foundations to support advisors with their clients, supplying best practice content and resources to the nonprofits CAPTRUST serves.
In addition to having two decades of experience in the financial industry, Heather was honored to serve as the executive director of the Ronald McDonald House in Chapel Hill, North Carolina for the three years prior to her joining CAPTRUST. Heather’s unique experience in nonprofit leadership, board service and financial services helps to provide holistic insight into nonprofit client needs.
Heather holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Duke University. She currently serves on the board of the CAPTRUST Community Foundation.
