Joey Payne is an institutional retirement plan financial advisor based in Raleigh, NC.

As a senior financial advisor, Joey is charged with specializing in helping plan fiduciaries through all aspects of their ongoing due diligence process, including investment analysis, plan design, compliance, and regulatory and process changes.

Prior to joining CAPTRUST, he was a vice president and senior consultant for Cammack Retirement Group, which became CAPTRUST in January 2021.

Prior to Cammack, he was the chief benefits officer at the University of Kentucky, where he was the plan administrator for a $4 billion defined contribution retirement plan. The plan featured 403(b), 401(a), 457(b), 415(m) and 457(f) retirement plans.

Joey received a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Kentucky and a Master of Business Administration from Eastern Kentucky University.

He enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, traveling, watching movies, and attending sporting events and concerts.
