Robert Miller is CAPTRUST’s chief financial officer and is based in Raleigh, NC.
As CAPTRUST’s chief financial officer, Robert oversees the company’s financials, including all reporting, budgeting, allocation, and financial analysis. He is responsible for determining the best mix of debt, equity, and internal financing for the firm. As part of the CAPTRUST’s leadership team, Robert executes the firm’s strategic direction by implementing key initiatives, allocating resources, and evaluating potential acquisitions to align with the firm’s mission and broader strategy.
Prior to joining the firm, Robert spent 17 years at Raymond James Financial in Tampa, FL. Most recently, he served as chief operating officer and chief financial officer for the Global Equities and Investment Banking Division of Raymond James & Associates. He also held the role of chairman and president of Raymond James International Holdings, where he managed the majority of Raymond James’ joint ventures and international operations—ranging from developed markets including the UK and France to emerging markets including Argentina, Brazil, Turkey, and India.
Robert held several positions with American Express before Raymond James, including director of institutional risk analysis. Robert holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and political science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Master of Business Administration degree from the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania.
Outside of work, Robert focuses on his community. While in Tampa, he served on the board of directors of the Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI) and was a member of Palma Ceia Presbyterian Church. He resides in Raleigh with his wife, Angier, and their son, Alexander.
